Does this mean that you can only recommend AMP products?

No, not at all. AMP product department is separate to AMP Financial Planning.  We have an extensive list of product providers available to ensure that we are recommending the most suitable product for your situation. If there is a product not on our approved product list, which is a better fit for your needs, an approval process is available to ensure that we are always working for your benefit and not that of a product provider.

What does it mean to be accredited by AMP Financial Planning?

This means that we are licensed (not employed) by AMP Financial Planning allowing us access to the research and technology of a large company, which allows us to provide advice to you more efficiently and effectively.  AMP Financial Planning stands behind the services and advice that we provide.

Do you receive commissions from your products?

We do receive commission from some of our heritage products, which includes superannuation and investments.  We also receive commissions from life insurance that we provide to our clients, which is paid by the insurance company rather than you. However, any new investment or super products we implement do not have any inbuilt commissions.  Any ongoing fees that are paid from products are agreed with you before proceeding and can be turned off at any time.

Are there costs involved in seeking mortgage advice?

Our in house mortgage consultant is paid a commission from the bank and only upon settlement of your loan.  This means that in the event we are unable to find you a better loan then we don’t get paid and it hasn’t cost you a cent.  There is no harm in having our expert research the market to ensure that you receive the best deal available.

Are there costs involved in seeking financial advice?

Yes, there are costs involved when seeking financial advice.  However, the first meeting is always free and costs are agreed upon upfront before any work is commenced, so you can be confident in knowing exactly what you are paying and what you get for your money.

Why do I need a financial planner?

People seek the help of a financial planner because they do not have the specialised knowledge or confidence to make those tough financial decisions.  A Financial Planner is a specialist in helping you solve financial stress, plan for your financial future or protect your family against financial hardship.

How can financial planning help you?

Financial planning is a coordinated process of helping you identify, plan for, and meet your financial goals. Our objective is to help you manage your finances and make the most of your money, whilst protecting your lifestyle from any unforeseen bumps in the road.
